Discovering Paris’ Best Markets

Some of the best off the beaten track markets in Paris.

  1. Marché des Enfants Rouges
    Located in the Marais district, this is Paris's oldest covered market, offering a diverse selection of fresh produce, gourmet foods, and international food.

  2. Marché Aligre
    Nestled in the 12th arrondissement, this bustling market is beloved by locals for its lively atmosphere, affordable prices, and huge array of fruits, vegetables, cheeses, and more.

  3. Bouquinistes de Paris
    Paris is also home to several book markets where book lovers can indulge in their love of literature. This market lines the banks of the Seine River, the cute little green stalls offering a huge selection of new and used books, vintage prints, and collectible items, it’s also just the most picturesque scene along the riverbank!

  4. Marché du Livre Ancien et d'Occasion
    Another epic book market in the 6th arrondissement featuring rare and antique books, as well as second-hand titles, maps, and prints.

  5. Marché aux Puces de Saint-Ouen
    Europe's largest flea market (!) this sprawling space of stalls in the northern outskirts of Paris is a hub of vintage finds, antiques, and collectibles.

  6. Marché Dauphine (part of the above market)
    A great market with a mix of vintage clothing and accessories. If you’ve got the time to browse, you’re sure to stumble upon something great

  7. Marché d'Aligre
    Not to be confused with Marché Aligre, this outdoor market in the 13th arrondissement offers a mix of fresh produce, clothing, household goods, and ethnic specialties, attracting a diverse crowd of shoppers.

  8. Marché des Batignolles
    I love this super cute organic fruit and veggie market, you’ll find it tucked away in the Batignolles neighbourhood, and it has the cutest village-like atmosphere.

  9. Marché de Belleville
    Situated in the vibrant Belleville neighbourhood, this multicultural market has an eclectic mix of Middle Eastern, African, and Asian foods, as well as fresh produce and spices.

  10. Marché Saxe-Breteuil
    This one you can find located near the Eiffel Tower, it’s so picturesque and has a selection of high-quality produce, flowers, cheeses, etc.

  11. Marché des Producteurs Bastille
    Held twice a week (check Google for live dares) along the Boulevard Richard-Lenoir, this farmers' market showcases the best of French produce and farming, with farmers and producers from across the country selling their goods directly to consumers.
